5th April 1941
Paddy, one of the naval gunners and myself, went into Liverpool again to settle up with Marconi’s, to finish off our shopping and to go to the pictures (quite a change after 3 months!).
It seems that we shall be sailing tomorrow sometime.
We have two soldiers on board, to act as gunners apparently throughout the voyage. They don’t seem to like the prospect, but at least they will have good food and accommodation.
Paddy went to a dance last night against my advice, and now wonders why he feels tired – already tired on sailing day!!
