16th April 1941
Last night two “raider” distress messages came through. It must have been either the “Scharnhorst”, or the “Seisenaum” (or some name like that!).
It has been a glorious day as regards weather, and reminded me of the kind of weather we had on the “Waiwera” when we were outward bound for New Zealand.
The sick soldier is now no longer sick, although he is still a little unsteady. He has consented to cut all our hair, as he used to be a ladies hair dresser in the West End! His one ambition is to get leave again and go home and see his wife.
