11th May 1941
The weather changed considerably today, and the sun was more like it’s old self. Two more ships have arrived, both of them being tankers.
One of the “Grace boats” – the “San Rose” – an American ship, came out of the harbour at 3pm, and certainly cut a very pretty picture, with her deep-black hull, white decks, half black and half-white masts, and green and black funnels with a white band encircling the top. Compared with our war time colours, she looked great.
