Today we shifted a wee way up the river to “Liet Juan Dry Dock Co., Ltd., where we are now.
I was rather amazed to find that instead of water being pumped out and us being lowered on to the chocks, the dry dock came up and met us! Apparently, this is a floating dock, while the other is a graving dock. We are now right opposite to the Empire State Building, which rears up on the opposite bank entirely on its own. At night, one sees red and white lights dangling as it were, from an invisible thread. These lights, I believe, are an aid to aeroplanes.
