25th October 1941
The weather has changed with a rust now that we are getting further south and out of the “Winter Western”. Yesterday there was a clear blue sky, a brilliant sun, and a lovely fresh breeze; it really was lovely. We should arrive around about tomorrow week and will mean that the trip has lasted 25 days.
The crowd are not half so cheerful as the old lot were. The gunners are always moaning about something, and never seem satisfied. M. is improving now that we are out of the danger zone. Mr B is not so cheerful lately as he used to be. It would seem it is beginning to tell on everyone now which makes me so doubly glad that I have so much to occupy my mind.
