Tuesday morning, we sighted Miami, on the coast of Florida with it’s several miles of “almost” sky scrapers gradually ending in a string of coral rocks stretching several miles out to sea. These rocks or reefs are the Florida Keys.

I must say that Miami looked exactly as the adverts would have it be in N.Y., but of course I wasn’t ashore! The weather was wonderful and you can quite understand people coming from Minnesota, Illinois, the Dakota’s and in fact from any of the snowy places. Every building seemed to be of concrete and the glare from the sun was terrific.

The tale goes that a convoy off Gib. Was attacked for 6 days and lost 14 ships – German news!
