4th February 1944
As was expected yesterday, we did not sail after all. The weather continued to blow fiercely. We passed on tankers with her nose under water where she had gone ashore and a cargo vessel lifted high and dry on the rocks beside a small trawler also ashore!
Visibility was poor yesterday but it snowed heavily during the night and it was possible to make out the distant hills and mountains. It was a glorious sight.
We have been treated to a glorious panorama of weather today and have seen Scotland in many of the winter moods. The scenery is glorious.
