28th February 1944
The new General Forces programme started yesterday and it is a very welcome change.
We were supposed to move up to the loading wharf today but a convoy was moving up to the Anzio beachhead. George and I have been to the pictures tonight. On the way back through the docks, we came across a fellow with two drunks, dead to the world. We carried them with fireman’s carry, but it was hard work.
The ship next to us is loading a great deal of lorries etc.
