7th March 1944
We were told this morning that we had to be out of Bȏne by 1200, midnight, to catch a west bound convoy for Bougie. Thus we left the docks at about 7.30pm and anchored in the bay until morning. So we say goodbye to Bȏne, in all its prettiness or picturesqueness. (At least it can be said to be pretty when viewed from the sea, with its white walled houses mounting on the hillsides, contrasted strongly against the red roofs and green background).
