28th March 1944
We played a good trick on the 3rd mate this morning. The 2nd mate spoke into the headphones of the radio telephony set and this was clearly audible in the speaker on the bridge. The 2nd mate then sent a message changing the destinations of several ships including ourselves. He allotted us to Workington! The 3rd mate was as happy as a lark when he heard this for he hails from Scotland!
Nevertheless, I received a 137 group code message this evening which changed the destinations of 31 ships.
We are now bound for Glasgow!!
