22nd May 1944
Another glorious sunny day with all the passengers outside our cabin in full strength.
I was messing around sketching myself in a mirror when along comes a woman passenger who claims to be a well known portrait painter (I haven’t discovered her name yet). She gave me one or two very useful tips and a certain amount of encouragement.
Her Chelsea studio has been blitzed. She has been in Bermuda for 3 years as a censor.
