Two of the ship’s in our convoy were in collision last night. Both of them lost t heir boats and rafts. Conditions were serious and they needed immediate assistance. We nearly collided with the ship ahead of us (the Commodore). She is loaded with TNT and with aviation spirit. Boy what a bang that would have been!

SOS have been going out all day concerning these 2 ships. Nothing has been heard since the first communication.
