This morning, Hugh and I went up to town again (by lorry) and bought a newspaper, some postcards and some music! We noticed that the German prisoners were unloading the food stuffs down at the quayside. They were a mixed crowd. Some small and rabbity, others big and surly. None smiled.

The Red Cross holds a French lesson for 2 hours each day!

The Tocqueville airfield has a tremendous number of transport planes, which fly a lot of our cargo up to the front line. They have been going up and down all day. It is understood that some is pumped all the way to Paris and beyond with the aid of booster pumps.

This afternoon I made some sketches of Tocqueville Church which was very interesting.

Tomorrow morning we go to Southampton. The ship that used to be on this run was torpedoed just off here so we may take over.
