BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

Yesterday, Iris and I decided to go for the day on the river down at Windsor, with Mother, Shirley and Joyce. Unfortunately, Joyce was unable to come, but the remainder of us managed to have a really grand day although the beginning was to say the least, a little hectic!

We set out at an early hour so that we might get a boat easily and after finding our way by devious routes to Waterloo, finally caught the 0914 to Windsor. We arrived there at approx. 1000., and were on the river by 1030. Our boat was a two man job, and so Shirley, Iris and I took turns together and managed quite successfully. We even negotiated a lock!!

We returned after a look at Windsor Castle and Eton College and Shirley came up with us for supper. She then came with us to see me off at the station.
