23rd May 1942
This morning at 0730, Tom and I went on deck to do some P.T. We were just passing Ailsa Craig (Glasgow) at the time. The sea has been fairly rough considering the time of year, and we have had rain almost continuously.
Las night I turned in at 2030 but was woken up at 2330 by John and Ian going to bed. They didn’t know I was awake and heard their conversation. They had a long discussion on religion and of SCK (Scotch Rom Cath.) said quite a lot of sense and tried to make Tom understand. Earlier on in the day Tom asked me to tell him whenever he swore.
