4th June 1942
We sighted a destroyer early this morning way over on the horizon.
Once again the weather has been glorious.
We were all out skipping this morning when the doctor came out and tested Jock’s heart after he had done some violent skipping. He told him it was 144 (twice normal) though I think he was kidding slightly. He warned Jock however that he mustn’t go at it too hard as smoking and lack of exercise wouldn’t allow of such things.
He also tested mine and said it 96. My normal is 60.
