No. 1, John & I went to the office today, but Stapleton was not there. Later on, we saw him, but he said going home was imposs.

In the evening, John, Pinkham (Gunnery) & I saw two films, “Deanna Durbin” in “It Started with Eve”, & then Greer Garson & Walter Pidgeon in “Mrs Miniver”—excellent films by the way. We got back on board by midnight.

The majority of the crew were drunk as the usual types.
