We had a very interesting experience as we approached Flushing this afternoon. We came across six ships, all wrecked in practically the same posn. Two were sunk the day before yesterday (our pilot was in the same convoy) and the other on Monday. One ship still had her last flag signal up: “UV” keep well closed up!! And pendants 19.

Depth charges have been dropped periodically and the shelling around Dunkirk has nearly shaken us to pieces!!

Montgomery has begun his offensive across the Rhine at Wesel.
