I was cutting the hedge this morning when Hugh phoned up to say that the ship was sailing at 14:00 hours owing to sudden change of orders. I couldn’t get there in time, so the ship went without me.

There was a party come dance down at Kenley cricket club tonight. Iris, Joyce, John and Jim W and several others were there. Had quite a good time.
