Had a bit of a barney with Mr. Sluggett the depot manager. He tried to tell me that I’ve done it purposely!

Taylor was very decent. Head office said I would have to become reinstated in the company!

I went into Cardiff this afternoon but Pill didn’t know where the ship was so I went down to Barry myself.

The ship was in and came in last evening! Once on board the old gang greeted me, and the Old Man told Hugh that he would see me square with the company.

By way of celebration (we are all signing off tomorrow), Hugh, Ron, Pete, Betty Sturge etc all went on the roundabouts etc. at Barry Island fair. We had a Grand time and finished up by buying real milk in a restaurant!
