Antwerp, Belgium

27th June 1945

I stayed aboard all day today and completed another view of the proposed bathroom at home. This evening I did structural mechanics. We are moving up to berth six on Friday.

We had quite a heavy thunderstorm this morning and it has rained throughout the day.

Antwerp seems to have improved even since I was last here. The shops are looking smarter. There are more people about. They sit out on the pavement now outside the cafes. Repairing of damaged premises is underway. The transport system has improved. Lighting is on at night, etc., etc.
