…I turned the radio on. I heard the celebrations in London and New York. We woke everyone up on the ship and blew whistles etc! I turned in about 300 hours. All day has been a holiday. I went to Hexham in the evening and had a marvellous time. in Belgium it was Mother’s Day so XXX had a lovely ice cake for supper, together with fruit, buns and coffee.

José seemed very happy.
