In the morning I was busy making out the Accounts of Wages for the crew. I tried to phone home about 8 times, but was told each time to come back in an hour as there was a delay.
There has been no chance to find out about leave, but it looks unlikely at the moment. At first they said we would be discharged in 48 hours, then it was 3 days, now its 10 days!
The “old man” has gone to meet his wife, and that’s all he worries about. All the crew want to be paid off. Arguments have been rife. All this delays the chances of leave.
