I went ashore this morning to see whether I could find Bert Lacelles. He was in a place called RATMALANA, about 10 miles from the city itself. I managed to obtain lifts in lorries both there & back. There was no difficulty in locating him. He seemed very fit, but complained of nothing to do! We went over details of the raid on Colombo & Ceylon in general, & also about Singapore, etc.
