27th July 1943

We were supposed to have sailed at 1 am this morning, but something went wrong. The STO blamed it on to the ship & gave the Old Man a ticking off. The ship blamed it onto the STO. Thus we shall sail at 1 am tomorrow, instead.

The new Doc & Purser have arrived. Both are young. Doc is 25 & newly graduated. This is his first trip.
