20th September 1943

George, John, & I went up to see Mr Baiss this morning. He told us that there was nothing for us going home. He promised to shift us to the “Surada” running to the Middle East!

When we arrived back aboard at abt. 10 pm., we found 2 shifting chits done for John & one for me! Mine was to transfer to the “Empire Splendour”, while John was to sign on the “Bandra” as No. 2. We don’t know what it’s all about yet.
