The weather has been fine, & a strong breeze has blown all day, but yet still the accommodation is unbearably hot at night. I have had a splitting headache all day, which has slowly got worse.

A Yankee ship reported having seen a submarine about 180 m to the NE of us.

We should reach Aden on Wednesday, all being well.
