12th October 1943
The stiff breeze of the last few days has now completely disappeared. A scorching sun has blazed down from a cloudless sky all day, for we are now in a similar sort of climate to Masirah and Ras al Hadd.
This morning we received an SSSS from a ship just north of Socotra (where we passed yesterday) & another off Bombay.
The moon is blazingly brilliantly tonight. Everything is quiet & still except for the ticking of the engines. A cool breeze blows on the port side, so I shall sleep there tonight.
