31st October 1943
We are now in full sight of the coast as we run along to Algiers. The hills are high with conical summits; they down to the coast around a succession of bays. At the present moment two Wellington bombers are flying along the coast. They make a fine picture in the early morning sun, silhouetted against the pale blue sky. A faint mist rises from the sea, emphasising the contour of the coast.
