2nd November 1943

Another calm, sunny day. The air is sharp & crisp & is a wonderful change from the East.

We sighted the coast of Spain at about 1600 hrs, & we were safely anchored in Gib by 2000 hrs. Depth charges go off every few minutes as a precaution against subs. because no boom defence can be laid here, owing to Spanish territorial waters being so close.

We are sailing tomorrow at 1600 hours GMT. The Commodore may leave us.
