24th January 1945
We arrived off Swansea – at least 11 miles away – at 2100, but were unable to continue owing to impossible visibility brought about by a blizzard. Snow is sweeping horizontally across the decks, clinging to the masts and funnels all down their starboard sides.
We shall go in at 0500 hours if the weather clears.
