MEAT PIE
At last we have received some more or less definite news on sailing. Officially it is 5 o’clock Wednesday morning.
I spent the morning in drawing and fitting contexts to 27 more gas masks. The third engineer on this ship was on another of this companies ships, when it was bombed at night. The plane sank three of the ships in the convoy, scoring two direct hits on each.
Jock and I have been to the pictures again – but only locally. Guns have been fired again. It is probable we shall have 3 operators next voyage.
