25th October 1940
The convoy formed up at 3pm yesterday. We are not on 12 hour watches whilst in convoy. It is good to feel the motion of the ship, the vibration of the engines, and the ceaseless tattoo of the wind on the bulkheads, once more.
Going on watch seems almost a pleasure again!
This afternoon the sun has been shining brightly. At 4pm we could see the high hills of the Isle of Man, and also the coast of Ireland. There has been some more difficulty in keeping position in the convoy.
