Jock and I had our hair cut for 50 cents each (2/6). At about 6pm we left New York for Albany. And now followed one of the greatest experiences we could every wish to experience. We sailed right past Lower Manhattan, Higher Manhattan, and, in other words, New York City. We saw Brooklyn Bridge, and went under the Washington Bridge – a wonderful bridge! But those skyscrapers! They just took my breath away. The whole trip up the Hudson River, has been wonderful. As I write now, I can see fields and trees right down to the water’s edge. This is just like England. That’s why it’s good! By the way, I forgot to mention before that I saw the Queen Elizabeth and the Normandy.
Well, all I can say in conclusion here is that New York is all that I expected of it, and a bit more; and that’s pretty unusual these days!
