10th May 1941
We arrived off Bermuda rather earlier than expected – about 11 o’clock – and in weather which was anything but encouraging. The rain poured down incessantly for about four hours, so all activity on deck was stopped with a rush and all hands decided that their bunk was the only fit place in such weather!
We are the first ship here, so we shall probably have to wait a few days, before leaving. A chap spoke about convoys tonight on the wireless, and certainly put over some tripe, or propaganda in other words!
