13th August 1944
We have been lying off Mumbles Head all day waiting for convoy. I get a lump in the throat every time I look at that beach! I have been working hard all day squaring the xxxx up – and it needed it!
I ordered bucket, spongey, rags, brasso, scrubbing brush etc. from the Steward and set to. It looks considerably better now!
We are leaving at 0730.
