13th December 1940
Today has been pretty tough again, the morning being taken up with heavy blizzards and very rough seas. We have taken a good many “green’uns” over and these have caused one of the Ford lorries lashed on deck, to break loose. It’s wooden casing is now stoved right in. They did their best to lash it in Montreal, but these seas have tremendous power. Once the new life boats also started getting loose again, but was soon lashed. One of the companionways to the lower bridge has gone over the side, and some of the woodwork has stoved in.
