At last the weather has had a turn for the better! This evening the sun shone beautifully, and the sea calmed down to normal. I expect it will begin to get pretty hot now – especially through the canal.
The tuner on our receiver has been going funny these last few days, so Mr Salway and I took it to pieces. He said he was hopeless with tools or anything mechanical so asked me to do it. Luckily it worked afterwards!
They say we shall be at Panama on Sunday morning – same as coming out I expect. It’s a funny thing but if Mr Salway takes the press, then the news always sounds bad, because he never reads the good parts and when I get it, it always sounds good because I never read the bad parts!!
