15th December 1941
Today the signal went up that enemy submarines were known to be in the vicinity.. Fortunately nothing has happened.
The wind is still very strong, and in spite of only being in the Irish Channel, seas have come over the boat deck! One sea tore the outside alleyway door off its hinges. The hinges were actually torn!
A sea came in the hole soon after and flooded everywhere, including the saloon. Probably cross channel boats have cancelled sailings for today.
We have anchored now, somewhere off the north coast of Wales. Something is wrong with our D.G.
