17th April 1941
A report of a “suspicious vessel” was given by the “Lord Byron” last night. He seems to be a mighty long way west (in the 60’s).
The weather has been pretty choppy – or I should say – the sea has been pretty choppy, and on the beam, so we have rolled quite a bit – much to the Corporal’s annoyance!
Paddy hasn’t been feeling too well today.
We have now heard the last of the English coast stations for a few weeks, because they were very weak last night and as we are going more westerly, they will be inaudible tomorrow.
