Well, we did succeed in sailing yesterday, & only a quarter of an hour late! Apparently the S.T.O. at Basrah have received two wireless messages saying that we are urgently required in Bombay, as there is a bit of a stalemate in Tunisia at present as Montgomery sizes up the German forces.

The munition works of Schoder (Czechoslovakia) & the town of Mannheim (Germany) were heavily bombed by 600 of our aircraft. 55 were lost, 37 at Schoder & 18 at Mannheim.
