17th August 1944
This morning I cycled down to the ship and back (20m) to find out what she was doing. Apparently she is to remain until Saturday morning, so I am going home on the 1420 train. Auntie gave a very nice lunch and though I had a bit of a rush, I caught the train and had a seat. I arrived at Purley at 1800. This evening Iris and I went down to the Club for tennis. Shirley was there. We had some good sets. The weather was grand. Flying bomb incidents have decreased.
After tennis, Dad, Iris and I played table tennis.
