What a glorious day!! The sun has been scorching down all day, and I have been sun-bathing. Lovely!! When we were within sight of Curacao, and the sun was going down, Mr Salway decided he wanted to remove the sand and sandbags away from the lead-in insulator, because when the sand is wet, transmission is greatly impaired. Glad of a bit of exercise I willingly climbed up on top, and between us we shifted quite a bit of sand, but I doubt whether it would conform with the government regulates of A.R.P!! We actually came alongside the oil pipes at about 6 o’clock. It was a funny feeling, coming back after being away from it for 8 weeks or so. Soon the moon came up  (just as it did the last time – full), and I sat in a deck-chair and just bathed in the light. Could there be anything more peaceful. However I had to get some sleep so snatched a few hours, and then came back up on deck again to watch her go out. It was a happy thought – ENGLAND. The “Tarpnaki”(similar to us) came alongside at 8pm and she left Panama before us. What a night, what a night!!
