19th April 1944

I caught the 0855 from Paddington to Cardiff. Iris came to see me off. I was supposed to report back at 0900. Pill was away on leave when I arrived and Beatson of Avonmouth was in his place. I met Capt Ross of the “E.G” at the shipping office. Beaston told me that I was joining the “E.B” in Avonmouth and allowed me to go back home and report at Avonmouth on Friday mid-day. I caught the 1620 back!
