19th November 1940
We are now quite a long way from town, but it is quite a pleasant tram ride. I have bought 20lbs of sugar, and have ordered 3lbs of butter, so I shall be pretty well loaded down! when I get home. From here, we shall go to Sydney, Cape Breton Island to wait for our life boats and the convoy.
The life boats will probably be ready by the 12th of December. It looks like no Christmas at home.
