1st March 1942
We left Salford Dock for Ellesmere Port at about 11 o’clock this morning.
It was quite pretty scenery down the canal – much the same as you would see from a road or a train.
If no.1 and myself had known that were going to tie up in E.P. until Tuesday morning, we would almost certainly have gone home Thursday evening and returned tonight. However, we didn’t know so that’s that!
I went for a stroll to E.P. town and in doing so, passed by the Customs House where I paid off the tanker.
One or two of Anglo-Sax’s ships were lying by the ferry.
