The work on the ship has started. They are making another attempt to fit the Oerlikon guns and also to recover the wireless room deck head. Besides these two things the lifeboats are being  refitted, the chairs stained, the decks painted and a number of other things. The noise of hammering on steel plates is terrific outside my cabin.
