When dawn broke this morning, the sea was dead flat calm. The reflections of the white clouds were absolutely steady. Soon the sun got up & it was very hot. My room is almost too hot to sleep in. We have made very good speed & hope to be off Madras by 4 or 5 am tomorrow. We received a sub. msg. S.E. of S. Africa.
