20th July 1941
I didn’t go ashore today, but I had intended going and would have done – to Church, but unfortunately there were no launches running.
During the afternoon, Jack (one of the soldiers), and myself, went for a swim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather has been excellent, especially early in the morning when Jack and I are skipping. The scenery too is very quiet and serene – nothing imposing, but nevertheless, very nice!
