A perfect night passed on to an equally perfect day, and the warmest we have had this trip.

Several depth charges were dropped from mid-day onwards, but nothing further developed. We altered course rather drastically.

The Russians have crossed the river Dneister on a 30 mile front and are now in Bessarabia – a province of Romania.
